Paulina Hennig-Kloska named Poland’s next Minister of Climate and Environment

The newly-appointed Prime Minister of Poland Donald Tusk has picked Paulina Hennig-Kloska to lead the Climate and Environment Ministry, as part of the new government confirmed by the President of Poland Andrzej Duda earlier today (13 December).

Paulina Hennig-Kloska is Vice-Chairwomen of Poland 2050, which is one of the four parties forming the “October 15 Coalition” government, following the failure of the now former PM Mateusz Morawiecki from Law & Justice (PiS) to secure enough votes to form a government.

Being a member of the Sejm (lower parliamentary chamber) since 2015, Ms Hennig-Kloska is also currently Vice-Chairwomen of the Parliamentary Committee for Energy, Climate and State Assets and a Member of the Parliamentary Public Finance Committee.

Ms Hennig-Kloska obtained a bachelor’s degree in political science at the Pawel Wlodkowic University College in Płock in 1999 and a master’s degree in political science at the University of Adam Mickiewicz in Poznań in 2001. She also completed postgraduate studies in financial analysis and controlling at the Poznań University of Economics in 2005.

Previously, Ms Hennig-Kloska was a General Director of a commercial law company, Branch Manager at a bank and a Radio Journalist in Gniezno.
