Edit Juhász appointed as new head of Hungarian regulator

Edit Juhász is the new President of the Hungarian Energy and Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (MEKH) from 16 January. Her mandate is for seven years.

Edit Juhász has several decades of experience in public administration. She was involved in the implementation of the energy efficiency directive and as deputy state secretary, she was responsible for the regulatory affairs of the national utility service, writes MEKH.

From 2018, as state secretary, she participated in the management of state-owned energy, waste management and water utility service companies. In October 2021, she continued her career as the legal, corporate management and coordination deputy general manager of state-owned MVM Energetika, a member of the board of directors and a member of the supervisory board of EON Hungária.

The former president of the Hungarian regulator, Péter János Horváth continues his work as the CEO of MVM Paks Nuclear Power Plant.
