Sławomir Hinc named GAZ-SYSTEM President

Poland’s gas transmission operator GAZ-SYSTEM announced earlier today (12 February) that it has appointed Sławomir Hinc as a Member and President of the company’s management board following an extraordinary general meeting.

From 2004 to 2008, Mr Hinc served as the Financial Director at PGNiG Przesył (currently GAZ-SYSTEM), where he was responsible for collaboration with Poland’s Energy Regulatory Office. He also supervised the process of obtaining the gas transmission concession for GAZ-SYSTEM. From 2006 to 2008, he served as GAZ-SYSTEM’s registered representative and authored the company’s first transmission tariff.

From 2008 to 2013, Mr Hinc was the Vice President of PGNiG for financial affairs, overseeing the establishment of the gas storage system operator (OSM) as a separate entity named Gas Storage Poland and the introduction of storage services to the market. Between 2008 and 2014, he was a Member of EuRoPol GAZ’s supervisory board. In 2010, he was appointed to the management board of EUROGAS, where he served until 2015.

From 2013 until 2016, he was President and CEO of PGNiG Upstream Norway. He also supervised the expansion of PGNiG’s exploration activities in northern Norway, including obtaining exploration concessions in the Barents Sea. From 2019 to 2024, served as a Board Advisor and later as a Member of Helioexpert’s supervisory board. From 2019, he served as the President and Managing Director of the Polish branch of Lithuanian photovoltaic (PV) farm operator Green Genius.

Mr Hinc holds an economic degree from the Gdańsk Institute of Foreign Trade at the University and a doctoral degree in technical sciences from the Faculty of Environmental Engineering at the Warsaw University of Technology, specialising in tariff systems in gas transmission.

The former members of GAZ-SYSTEM’s management board: Marcin Chludziński, Andrzej Kensbok, Marian Roman Krzemiński, Paweł Pikus, Błażej Spychalski, and Artur Zawartko were dismissed by the decision of the extraordinary general meeting on 12 February.
