Pál Ságvári appointed as ERRA’s Vice Chair

Pál Ságvári, Vice President for Strategic and International Affairs at the Hungarian Energy and Public Utility Regulatory Authority (MEKH), was elected Vice Chair of the Energy Regulators Regional Association (ERRA). He will serve in this position until 2026.

At the annual general assembly of ERRA, five members of the seven-member executive board responsible for leading the organisation were re-elected. Pál Ságvári’s position as Vice Chair was also confirmed. He was already elected to this position in 2020.

Between 2016 and 2021 he was Ambassador-at-large for energy security of Hungary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. He was Director for energy policy in the Ministry of National Development between 2011-2014, where he was responsible for working out the Hungarian energy strategy. He was also coordinating regional energy market development projects such as the North-South Energy Corridor, Hungarian-Slovak gas interconnector, Nabucco, South Stream, CEEGEX, CEE Forum, V4 Gas Forum and Electricity Market Coupling. He started his career in the private sector. He also held different key expert positions in GDF SUEZ Hungary in the field of natural gas and electricity supply. He was appointed Vice President of the Hungarian Energy and Public Utility Regulatory Authority in November 2020.

At the general assembly, Pál Ságvári presented the strategy for the organisation’s next term, outlining a five-year concept focusing on growth, training, PR and brand building for ERRA and emphasised the importance of cooperation with international financial institutions.
