Chinese automaker BYD has entered into a strategic retail agreement with Schiller Auto Family, strengthening its presence in the Hungarian market. BYD aims to offer sustainable and innovative electric vehicles to a broad range of customers in Hungary. The opening of the new dealership is scheduled for February.
Schiller is BYD’s third partner in Hungary. The Chinese company commenced its distribution in Hungary in October last year with its first two brand dealers, Duna Auto and Wallis Motor. In the coming months, additional retail partners will join the BYD network nationwide, informed the company.
BYD anticipates that the state incentive program for electric car purchases that starts in February will make the brand appealing to Hungarian businesses. All three current BYD models are eligible for the 4 million forints (10.530 euros) incentive.
The company is taking swift measures to ensure that its future service network is easily accessible to owners residing or operating beyond the capital, as mentioned in the press release.
In addition to car sales, BYD is already present in Hungary with bus manufacturing and battery assembly facilities. The Chinese electric vehicle giant announced at the end of last year that it will build its first European plant in Szeged, Hungary.
