MET Group enters French market

Integrated European energy company MET Group announced its entry into the French market through its Lyon-based subsidiary MET France. Antargaz has entrusted MET with the takeover of its portfolio of electricity and natural gas customers from 1 October 2023.

With subsidiaries in 14 European countries and trading activities in 30 national gas markets, MET Group continues to expand its presence in Europe.

MET’s disruptive strategy, which will allow customers to take control of their energy budget through optimised management tools, will be led by the newly appointed CEO of MET France, Giovanni Caporale.

“Our market entry into France marks a new stage in the growth of the Group, which today ranks among the most dynamic European energy players,” said Benjamin Lakatos, Chairman and CEO of MET Group. “We are bringing more competition to the French market, enabling customers to take advantage of tailor-made offers.”

“With MET France, the self-employed, micro-businesses and SMEs can become full-fledged players in their energy budget and will influence the entire process,” stated Giovanni Caporale, CEO of MET France. “For us, it’s about repositioning the customer to the centre of the offer.”

Details of MET France’s offers and strategy will be unveiled in September 2023.
