Serbia to cooperate with Central African Republic in oil sector

Serbia’s Minister of Energy and Mining Dubravka Đedović Handanović signed on Thursday (29 February) a memorandum of understanding on cooperation between Serbia and the Central African Republic in the geology, mining and oil sector.

The memorandum aims to promote cooperation between the two countries, inter alia, through the exchange of information, high-level discussions with officials, consultation with the industrial sector and other stakeholder groups, and cooperation on projects of mutual interest.

Minister Đedović Handanović said that Serbia and the Central African Republic have long-standing friendly relations, as well as an interest in working to improve their bilateral relations in various areas, including mining.

“Serbia has a very rich tradition of mining, developed scientific and research institutions and a long-standing practice of training professional personnel. The exchange of experiences and cooperation in the field of geology and mining would contribute to the deepening of bilateral relations and the exchange of experiences with the aim of adopting the best practices in the mining sector,” the Serbian minister said.

On behalf of the Central African Republic, the memorandum was signed by the Minister of Mining and Geology Rufen Benam Beltungu.
