The first day of the conference on 6 November will be the 4th Hungarian Battery Day, which was organised in the past years with great success. The day begins with Péter Szijjártó, Hungary’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade underscoring Hungary’s leadership in the European battery sector. The speakers will explore the development of the European battery value chain, with Thore Sekkenes from the European Battery Alliance, Patrick Clerens from the European Association for Storage of Energy (EASE), Giorgio Corbetta from Eurobat and Fabrice Stassin from BEPA.
Speakers will delve into specific technological advancements shaping the future of battery production and energy storage. Jason Chen, General Manager of Operations at CATL Europe, will speak about CATL’s contributions to energy storage and their role in driving innovation. Bob L. Galyen, a renowned energy storage technology executive will explore advanced battery technologies that accelerate global production, while Lars Herlitz, Co-Founder of Lyten, will address the importance of sustainable battery solutions.
The conference will examine the development of battery energy storage systems in Hungary, with participants from ALTEO Group and Huawei, while Attila Steiner, State Secretary of the Hungarian Ministry of Energy will present the government’s strategy to promote network-related investments.

The second day of Hungarian Battery Week on 7 November will centre on the rapidly evolving e-mobility sector. The day kicks off with Márton Nagy, Hungary’s Minister of National Economy, who will map out Hungary’s progress in embracing e-mobility and its economic potential. Maciej Mazur, President of the Polish New Mobility Association and Apostolos D. Petropoulos of the International Energy Agency will provide a broader perspective on global e-mobility trends, while Chris Heron, Secretary General of AVERE and Axel Volkery from the European Commission will outline essential policies needed to ensure sustainable growth for the e-mobility sector within the EU.
Key industry leaders will share their vision for the future of electric vehicles. Michael Breme, Chairman of Audi Hungaria, will present Audi’s roadmap for sustainable e-mobility, and Liv Eske Herrstroem from BMW will showcase the sustainable production of the new BMW electric model, in Debrecen. Petr Dolejsi, Director for Mobility and Sustainable Transport of the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA) will discuss how Europe’s auto industry can remain competitive in the shifting global market.
The event will address the symbiosis between e-mobility and the energy grid with speakers from Elaad.NL, MVM Mobiliti, Mavir and E.ON Hungaria will discuss the impacts of electrification on the grid and transportation systems.
