Slovakia to invest almost 2 bln euros to decarbonise industry and heating sector

By 2030, Slovakia will invest nearly two billion euros from the Modernisation Fund for the decarbonisation of the industry and heating sector.

According to the Ministry of the Environment, these two sectors together are responsible for almost 70 per cent of all greenhouse gas emissions in the country. Thus, the Ministry sees the approved State aid schemes as a historic chance to modernise the Slovak industry and the heating sector so that they create economic value and at the same time protect the environment.

In order to assess the current situation and make effective use of the Fund, the Ministry is inviting all entities that are planning investments of more than 1 million euros in these areas to present their ideas and projects.
