Anthony Marino elected Chairperson of Naftogaz’s Supervisory Board

Anthony Marino has been elected as the Chairperson of the Supervisory Board of the Ukrainian state-owned oil and gas company Naftogaz. The decision was made during a meeting of the company’s newly established Supervisory Board on 10 February, the company said.

Mr Marino is an exploration and production specialist with over 38 years of experience in the oil and gas sector, according to Naftogaz. Prior to his new role, he served as Executive Director, President and CEO of Vermilion Energy, an international hydrocarbon exploration and production company. During 2002-2020, he worked on the supervisory boards and boards of directors of six companies and organisations.

“The newly elected Naftogaz Supervisory Board begins its work. This is a very important step toward ensuring transparency within the company and in terms of public perceptions of Naftogaz. I am sure that we have a lot of fruitful work ahead of us,” said Oleksiy Chernyshov, CEO of Naftogaz.

Mr Marino also currently serves as President and CEO of a Canadian energy company Tenaz Energy (formerly Altura Energy).
