Andrzej Kensbok and Błażej Spychalski join GAZ-SYSTEM Management Board

Last week, the Extraordinary General Meeting of the Polish natural gas transmission operator, GAZ-SYSTEM, appointed, Andrzej Kensbok and Błażej Spychalski as new members of the company’s Management Board, becoming Vice-Presidents of the Management Board, as of 1 January 2023. The current Members of the Management Board – Marcin Kapkowski and Krzysztof Jackowski ended their employment at GAZ-SYSTEM on 31 December 2022.

Andrzej Kensbok

From March 2021 to December 2022, Andrzej Kensbok was the Vice-President of the Management Board for Finance of KGHM Polska Miedź SA. He was also associated with KGHM in 2019-2020 as the General Director for Strategic Projects and President & CEO of KGHM INTERNATIONAL in Canada. 

From February 2020 to March 2021, Mr Kensbok was the President of the Management Board of Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa. In the period from March 2017 to June 2019, he was the Vice-President of the board of the Industrial Development Agency. 

Since 2018, he has been the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of PKP, and since 2015, a member of the Supervisory Board and plenipotentiary of the Management Board for the reconstruction of “Masfrost” companies. Between 1989-2013, he held several managerial and directorial positions in enterprises from the industrial sector.

Mr Kensbok obtained a Master’s degree in Philosophy and Theoretical Physics from the Catholic University of Lublin. He also completed an MBA at INSEAD Business School, specialising in cost management and business process reorganisation.

Błażej Spychalski

Błażej Spychalski has been the Social Advisor to the President of Poland since October 2021. From 2018 to 2021, he held two other roles in the President’s office: Secretary of State in the Chancellery and Spokesperson. 

Since October 2021, he has also been an Advisor to the Management Board of PKN Orlen. From 2014 to 2018, he was the President of the Management Board of Zakład Gospodarki Hepłownicza in Tomaszów Mazowiecki (central Poland) and President of the Management Board of Zakład Gospodarki Wodno-Kanalizacyjna in Tomaszów Mazowiecki. From 2010 to 2012, he was a Councillor of the Regional Assembly of the Wielkopolskie voivodeship, and from 2014 to 2018, a Councillor of the Regional Assembly of the Łódź voivodeship. 

He obtained a law degree from the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, and an Executive MBA from Collegium Humanum.
