MOL supports the operation of Ukraine’s energy network

Hungarian oil and gas company MOL is showing solidarity with war-torn Ukraine by supporting the continuous and secure operation of the country’s energy network through asset support.

MOL has so far offered a total of 290,000 euros in subsidies and, based on feedback from the Ukrainian side, is delivering 50,000 euros worth of assets to the border, reads the company’s statement.

“We stand in solidarity with Ukraine and we are committed to the industry cooperation which supports the continuous operation of Ukraine’s energy network,” said Ádám Homonnay, Director of Exploration and Production at MOL Hungary.

MOL transports equipment necessary for oil and gas production and the uninterrupted operation of the energy network to the Ukrainian border. According to the company’s statement, MOL is constantly monitoring emerging needs under the asset support program and is working to expand its support.

MOL Group has joined the International Association of Oil & Gas Producers (IOGP). asset support program, which aims to safeguard access to energy for the people of Ukraine by delivering emergency supplies. The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine compiles the list of urgent requests of critical energy infrastructure operator companies. The shipment is supported by the Energy Community Secretariat‘s dedicated Ukraine Support Task Force and facilitated by the IOGP. The first shipment of emergency equipment arrived in Ukraine in April.

Meanwhile, emergency recovery work is difficult in Ukraine due to the intensification of hostilities and the emergence of new damage. According to the latest publication of the Gas TSO of Ukraine in total 56 gas distribution stations in Luhansk, Donetsk, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhzhia regions have been shut down due to hostilities.
