Kosovo announces first 100MW solar auction

On Friday (12 May) Kosovo’s Ministry of Economy announced an auction for a guaranteed purchase price for energy generation from a 100-megawatt (MW) solar power plant.

The solar photovoltaic plant will be built in the western municipality of Rahovec, which will be leased to the selected bidder for at least 30 years, the Ministry said.

In addition, a Power Purchase Agreement will be signed for a period of 15 years with the national market operator. The latter shall guarantee the mandatory purchase of the produced electricity.

The tender dossier can be obtained upon a written request addressed to the contact person at the Ministry of Economy, starting today (16 May).

The deadline for submitting bids is 15 August, while the bid opening date is set for 18 August 2023.
