Renewable energy company Green Genius, operating in 8 European markets, signed a 92 million euro loan with Swedbank in Lithuania.
These funds will be used for the construction of an 80 megawatts (MW) wind farm in the Jurbarkas district, Western Lithuania.
“This 80 MW wind farm in Lithuania will further improve Green Genius development and construction portfolio diversification in terms of geography and technology,” said Rokas Bancevičius, CFO of Green Genius. “Being one of the largest projects in the country it will also support the region’s pursuit towards decarbonisation and energy independence.”
The wind park will start generating green electricity in 2025 and will be the largest such park in the Jurbarkas region. It will provide business enterprises in Lithuania with green electricity, saving more than 130,000 tons of CO2 per year.
