Enefit Green to invest 82.9 million euros in a new wind farm in Finland

Estonian Eesti Energia Group’s renewable subsidiary, Enefit Green will invest in the construction and commissioning of the 72 megawatts (MW) Tolpanvaara wind farm in Finland. The project will receive 82.9 million euros of investment and the construction process will start in the first quarter of 2022.

Tolpanvaara wind park is expected to start operation at the end of 2023 and its 13 turbines are estimated to generate 250 gigawatts-hour (GWh) of electricity annually.

Enefit Green, the Estonian smart grid services provider has already signed a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) which covers 60 per cent of the first seven years’ production of Tolpanvaara wind farm.

The investment in this project will enable Eesti Energia Group to realise its renewable electricity production plan and at least, double its installed electricity generation capacity to 1,100 MW by 2025.

In 2021 Eesti Energia group invested 228 million euros in wind energy projects. Together, they amount to the capacity of 190 megawatts.
