Denton’s teams in Warsaw have advised several financing institutions, including the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), DNB Bank Polska, mBank, Bank Pekao and PZU, on the financing granted to Potęgowo Mashav for the extension of the Potęgowo wind farm.
The new financing will be used to extend the largest wind farm in Poland by an additional 37.4 megawatts (MW). Once completed, the Potęgowo wind power plant’s total capacity will reach 256.9 MW.
Dentons’ legal advice involved preparation, negotiation and participation in the execution of the finance documents, as well as carrying out legal due diligence of the project and providing support regarding renewable energy regulations.
“We feel privileged to have been able to draw on our experience in the financing of RES and again advise on this prestigious and unique investment,” commented Piotr Nerwiński, Partner in Dentons’ Banking and Finance practice, who supervised and led the work on the transaction. “We are always particularly committed and pleased when assisting investors and financing institutions engaged in implementing projects aimed at reducing CO2 emissions in Poland and other European countries.”
“We are happy to continue our journey to build the largest onshore wind farm in Poland,” added Tomer Eizenberg, CEO at Mashav Energia. “This extension is another milestone in implementing our ambitious plans for the Polish renewable energy sector using proven technology and reliable partners.”
