Ukraine’s GTSO enters into an agreement with Italy’s RMT VALVOMECCANICA

The Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine (GTSOU) has entered into an agreement with Italian company RMT Valvomeccanica, the world-leading manufacturer of shut-off valves, on the manufacturing of ball and control valves for the Ukrainian gas transportation system.

“We are working with the best domestic and international equipment manufacturers to ensure reliable and safe operation of the Gas Transmission System,” said Sergiy Makogon, General Director of GTSOU, commenting on cooperation with the Italian manufacturer. “Replacement of the old valves with the new ones, which, after all, are made by RMT VALVOMECCANICA, a leading manufacturer, will help decrease the operation and maintenance costs, minimise gas leaks related to technical incidents and gas losses caused by physically worn-out shut-off valves, increase energy efficiency. But most importantly, it will enhance the reliability of GTS operation, which will contribute to strengthening the position of Gas TSO of Ukraine as a reliable gas transiter to Europe.”

Within the framework of the modernisation program for the gas transmission system, the Gas TSO of Ukraine supports the national producer. However, compliance with the required technical specifications and final price offer remains the decisive aspect. In a competitive marketplace Prozorro, RMT Valvomeccanica offered optimal price offer for modern technological equipment that meets all the requirements. The total contract value is 6.5 million euro.

“The cooperation of one of the world’s largest gas transmission system operators, GTSOU and one of the best manufacturers of shut-off valves, RMT Valvomeccanica is a guarantee of long-term continuous supply of natural gas to consumers in Europe and Ukraine,” commented Executive Director of RMT Valvomeccanica Giovanni Gilardi. “We produce ball valves, starting from remelting ore and scrap-metal and ending with actuators of our own production, and offer our product on the principle of one-stop-shop. We control every step of our supply chain and guarantee the delivery of a top-class product. The company is also a world leader in the sphere of After Sales Service, our mobile teams conduct service and testing of our cranes from platforms in tropical seas to gas pipelines in the Arctic Circle.”
