Polish-Ukrainian gas capacity auction notes ‘negative’ outcome

The Polish gas transmission system operator, GAZ-SYSTEM and the Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine (GTSOU) have jointly announced the results from last week’s annual auction for incremental capacity on both sides of an interconnection point at the Polish-Ukrainian border (4 July).

No market participant booked any incremental capacity at the auction, which took place last Monday (3 July).

As a result, “the outcome of the economic test was negative on both sides of the interconnection point at the Polish-Ukrainian border,” GAZ-SYSTEM said in a press release.

According to Article 22(3) of Capacity Allocation Mechanism (CAM) NC, in a scenario in which no offer level results in a positive outcome of the economic test, the specific incremental capacity process shall be terminated.
