Moldova secures gas supplies from Greece

Moldova’s energy company Energocom successfully concluded a negotiation to procure gas from Greece, increasing the country’s security of supply for the upcoming winter.

The tenders’ winner is DEPA, the country’s natural gas supply company.

Energocom director Victor Bânzari said to be grateful that DEPA is supporting Moldova in the diversification of energy sources.

“The agreement between the two parties signed in May in Athens, as well as the subsequent cooperation, is a guarantee that Moldovan consumers will have a supply of natural gas at competitive prices,” he said.

“DEPA, as one of the leading natural gas suppliers in Southeast Europe welcomes the start of cooperation with Energocom as a step in the direction of energy solidarity and security supply for the entire region,” added the CEO of DEPA, Konstantinos Xifaras.
