GAZ-SYSTEM obtains environmental decision for gas pipeline at Kozienice Power Plant

Polish gas transmission operator GAZ-SYSTEM has obtained an environmental decision for a connecting gas pipeline to the Kozienice Power Plant in Świerże Górne in the Masovian voivodeship, east-central Poland (24 August).

Connecting the Kozienice Power Plant to the national gas transmission system will enable energy production based on the use of low-emission fuel sources – making it “crucial” for the energy transition, GAZ-SYSTEM said via X (Twitter).

More specifically, the gas will be supplied via the Gustorzyn-Wronów gas pipeline, which is currently at the final stage of implementation.

In 2020, the plant’s operator Enea Wytwarzanie signed an agreement with GAZ-SYSTEM to connect to the national gas transmission system as part of plans to convert from coal to gas.
