Dmytro Lyppa, CEO of the Gas Transmission System Operator of Ukraine (GTSOU) and Mykola Kolisnyk, Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine, discussed prospects for developing Ukraine’s gas transmission system. They visited a gas infrastructure facility in the Kyiv region, transporting gas to millions of consumers and industrial users.
During the meeting, Mr Lyppa highlighted the company’s essential tasks, such as modernising the gas transmission system, increasing energy security and preparing for the upcoming ating season. Mr Lyppa also emphasised the safety of employees as a top priority for the company.
“As we approach the end of the challenging heating season, our main focus is to prepare our infrastructure for the next winter,” he said. “We will continue our modernisation projects and work to improve process efficiency. Introducing a special operation mode for critical gas infrastructure is important for the efficient use of the main gas pipelines in the future.”
Another vital area of discussion during the meeting was the potential for constructing gas-fired power generation facilities at GTSOU sites.
“Despite the challenging circumstances, the Ukrainian TSO has maintained its position as a reliable gas transporter and an important contributor to the Ukrainian energy system,” commented Deputy Minister Kolisnyk. “The company’s employees have shown exemplary heroism in keeping the facilities in operation, demonstrating high professionalism and unwavering courage in ensuring the security of gas supplies.”
