First Qatari LNG cargo arrivest at Krk terminal

The jubilee tenth Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) carrier Al Dafna has arrived at the Krk Terminal in Croatia.

Al Dafna belongs to the Q-Max class of ships, which makes it one of the largest LNG carriers in the world. All safety checks are underway, after which the cargo transfer operation from the LNG carrier to the FSRU vessel LNG Croatia will begin.

Qatar was one of the last countries to book the terminal capacity through POWERGLOBE QATAR which will deliver LNG cargoes mainly from Qatar and the US.

Qatar is playing an increasingly important role in the LNG market. Petroleum and LNG are the cornerstones of Qatar’s economy and account for more than 70 per cent of total government revenue, more than 60 per cent of gross domestic product and roughly 85 per cent of export earnings. Proved oil reserves of 15 billion barrels should ensure continued output at current levels for 23 years.
