Ukraine and Bulgaria deepen cooperation in nuclear energy

The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine and the Ministry of Energy of Bulgaria signed a Memorandum of Understanding to deepen cooperation in the energy sector.

“We are deepening cooperation in the energy sector and will develop collaboration in the field of nuclear, green energy, hydrogen, energy storage systems and smart networks”, noted the Minister of Energy of Ukraine, Herman Galushchenko.

According to the Memorandum, the parties will conduct independent assessments of the safety of nuclear facilities by exchanging experts, access to the infrastructure and participation in joint projects and initiatives.

In addition, the Memorandum is promoting cooperation at all stages of the nuclear fuel cycle, including those services related to the extension of the operational life of nuclear facilities, with the aim of increasing safety and/or improving their operational features.
