Serbia and France sign agreements on nuclear energy and critical mineral resources

Serbia’s Minister of Mining and Energy, Dubravka Đedović Handanović signed documents on cooperation between Serbia and France in the peaceful use of nuclear energy and critical mineral resources.

“Building on the Memorandum with the French company EDF from April, which established a long-term dialogue on energy transition, today’s agreement outlines the next steps in our cooperation,” said the minister. “This includes the exchange of professional knowledge and expertise, as well as technical assistance, to identify the best solutions for the potential use of nuclear energy in Serbia.”

“France has a highly developed mining sector,” continued minister Đedović Handanović, mentioning the cooperation in the research and exploitation of critical and strategic mineral resources. “This agreement aims to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and experience to strengthen our capacities. It will help us achieve the highest standards and best practices in mining, geology and environmental protection.”
