Shell signs an MoU for broader downstream usage of LNG and bio-LNG with key stakeholders

Shell Hungary has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with multiple energy and transport stakeholders on accelerating energy transition and reducing carbon emissions in the commercial road transport sector.

The signatories include Waberer’s International, MVMCEEnergy, MVM Mobiliti, ECO-Tech vision, Volvo Trucks Hungary and Scania Hungária.

The agreement was signed on 3 April during the Budapest LNG Summit.

The MoU will aim to facilitate the widespread downstream use of LNG and bio-LNG in Hungary. It was initiated by Shell Hungary and will serve as a framework for collaborative
efforts among the Parties.

The agreement also marks the signatories’ common recognition of the role that LNG and bio-LNG play in the energy mix, and the need for incentives in this field.

The parties will work together to foster exchanges to accelerate decarbonisation and achieve the goal of the Paris Agreement and the EU’s climate target.
