First test at the Revithoussa LNG Truck Loading Station successfully completed

The first performance test at the LNG Truck Loading Station at the Greek terminal of Revithoussa was successfully completed on 29 March. A total of three companies, Blue Grid, DEPA Commercial and Motor Oil Hellas participated in the LNG Truck Loading process.

Inaugurated in October 2022, the LNG Truck Loading Station in Revithoussa offers a flexible solution for the supply of natural gas to consumers or distribution networks that are not connected to the National Natural Gas Transmission System (NNGTS), implementing virtual Natural Gas transmission pipelines, through loading and transporting LNG with trucks specially designed for this purpose.

It is the first relevant installation in the country which contributes to the strengthening of the security of supply, as it provides the possibility of supplying areas of Greece but also neighbouring Balkan countries, which do not have LNG infrastructure and transport networks.

With a total budget of 7.5 million euros, the LNG Truck Loading Station project in Revithoussa has received 3.16 million euros in co-funding from resources of the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through the Operational Program “Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship and Innovation” (EPANEK) within the framework of the 2014-2020 NSRF, as well as through the POSEIDON MED II Program.
