Lithuania’s President Gitanas Nausėda has invited US-based energy group Holtec International to invest in Lithuania and set up a service centre division, as well as to cooperate closely with Lithuanian energy scientists.
During his working visit to Philadelphia, President Nausėda pointed out that Lithuania had achieved full independence from Russian energy imports and is now investing in diversified energy sources and green energy while moving away from fossil fuels.
“Lithuania is moving steadily towards more sustainable and greener energy based on ambitious plans and aims to diversify its energy sources to the greatest extent possible,” he said to Kris Singh, President of Holtec International.
Among the most ambitious renewable energy projects currently under development in Lithuania, Mr Nausėda mentioned the two offshore wind farms that are to be constructed by 2030. Then he underlined that Lithuania is working to balance wind and solar electricity and is interested in introducing new technologies to achieve this, hence the role that could be played by Holtec International.
