The Executive Director of Bulgaria’s Electricity System Operator Angelin Tsachev and the Rector of Sofia’s Technical University Ivan Kralov signed a Memorandum of Cooperation that aims to deepen the joint work for personnel exchange and development of research.
“Modern realities and the goals of achieving carbon neutrality in Europe call for even greater cohesion in working with the academia world,” said Mr Tsachev. “The new generations of energy specialists who are trained in higher education institutions in Bulgaria and abroad are the bearers of innovative knowledge that will ensure the successful achievement of EU climate goals.”
“To achieve the goals of the Green Deal, policies in this direction need to go hand in hand with technology,” agreed professor Kralov. “The Technical University is an established centre for training highly qualified personnel and with their skills, we will support the efforts to achieve climate neutrality.”
ESO’s cooperation with higher education institutions is an active tool for training the necessary staff for the sector, as well as a link between business and academic education in response to the modern needs of the energy industry by highly qualified specialists. The memorandum is aimed at creating opportunities for students from the Technical University in Sofia to gain practical experience and to conduct joint research in the field of electricity.
