MET Group exits H2 Lubmin project

Integrated European energy company MET Group sold its shareholding in H2 Lubmin, a hydrogen production project on the German Baltic Sea coast, to the Foresight Group.

Nevertheless, MET will continue to collaborate with HH2E to facilitate the sale of green hydrogen produced by HH2E at Lubmin and other German plants.

Thus, MET Group plans to play a key future role in supplying industrial companies, municipal utilities and other market players in the German energy market with green hydrogen.

The partnership between H2 Lubmin HH2E and MET Group was announced last year in June, aimed at developing one of the largest green hydrogen production plants in Europe to date. The project aimed to construct a new generation power-to-X plant with a capacity to produce around 6,000 tonnes (over 200,000 megawatt-hours) of green hydrogen per year.
