Croatia launches tenders for geothermal waters exploration

Croatia’s Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development have published several tenders for the exploration of geothermal waters in various exploration areas, the Ministry’s Hydrocarbons Agency announced on 15 March.

The geothermal research areas include Vukovar 2, Tekić, Sveta Nedelja 1, Sveta Nedelja 2 and Sveta Nedelja – Genera.

As confirmed by the Ministry, the winning bidder will be issued with a separate “geothermal waters exploration license” for one or more of the above geothermal exploration areas for energy purposes.

Information on the tender documentation and bidding round documentation (in Croatian) for each research area can be found here.

In December 2022, the Agency published a tender for the exploration of geothermal waters in the Drava Basin for energy purposes in six research areas.
