Croatia launches several geothermal exploration waters tenders

The Croatian Hydrocarbons Agency reported on Friday (16 February) that Croatia’s Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development has issued tenders to find contractors for the exploration of geothermal waters in several parts of the country.

These exploration areas include Ludbreg and Bjelovar in the north, Slavonski Brod in the south and Brdovec in the west of the country.

The ministry is looking to issue permits for the extraction of geothermal waters for energy purposes in suitable areas, the Croatian Hydrocarbons Agency noted in a press release.

In October 2023, the ministry issued permits for the exploration of geothermal waters in five separate exploration areas.
