The ORLEN Group’s PGNiG Obrót Detaliczny has announced a reduction in the price of natural gas for customers under the “Gas for Business” tariffs (1 August).
From September, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) will pay 201.39 złoty (45.48 euros)/megawatt-hours (MWh) for gas, which is over 37 złoty (8.35 euros)/MWh less than in August.
The new lower price was set using a pricing method based on the gas quotations on the Polish Power Exchange, which was introduced in April earlier this year. Under the pricing system, the price tariffs are updated on a monthly basis and announced a month in advance.
“In September, small and medium-sized companies under the price tariff will pay 201.39 złoty/MWh for gas, which is as much as 75 per cent less than in January this year,” said Daniel Obajtek, President of ORLEN’s Management Board. “Another reduction in gas prices this year is the synergy effect that we have developed within the ORLEN Group. Market trends combined with the business potential achieved as a result of conducted mergers enable making important decisions for Polish entrepreneurs. We are also working on a new solution that can be a real support for large companies using natural gas, and thus the entire Polish economy.”
Details of PGNiG Obrót Detaliczny’s new pricing method for large enterprises using natural gas are to be announced soon, ORLEN said via a press release.
The Polish ORLEN Group has been lowering its energy prices for SMEs under the “Gas for Business” tariffs since March this year.
