Enea among the most responsible energy company in Poland

Poland’s power industry group Enea is the country’s second most responsible energy company according to a ranking published by the Kozminski University and the Responsible Business Forum.

The ranking assesses companies based on their commitments regarding sustainability and the implementation of corporate social responsibility initiatives.

“Our debut on the podium of the ranking of responsible companies is a great distinction and appreciation of those activities in the area of social responsibility,” commented Magdalena Hilszer, Head of the Communication Office at Enea. “We have become one of the leaders among companies conducting business in accordance with the idea of sustainable development, combining business and social goals in the Enea Group’s development strategy.”

Mrs Hilszer underlined that Enea’s work is in line with ethical standards and the respect of local communities and the environment.

In particular, in its sustainable report, Enea acknowledged that in the production and distribution of electricity, as well as heat, it is using natural resources that affect the natural environment. Through new technologies, the Group can monitor the situation and introduce technological solutions that minimise the impact on the natural environment. In 2018, Enea spent around 38 million euros on investments related to environmental protection.

Within the category fuels, energy and mining, Enea Group ranked second together with oil refiner and petrol retailer PKN Orlen. Overall, the first place went to ING Bank Śląski and BNP Paribas Bank Polska.
